Insights into our Economic Recovery – Tracking Trends That Matter
Todd Hale, Senior Vice President, The Nielsen Company

As a result of unprecedented economic turmoil, much of the consumer landscape is rapidly changing, forcing companies of all kinds to reconsider even their most abiding assumptions about how they do business. We are in the midst of a bifurcated recovery as affluent consumers are back in the game, while those less fortunate are concerned about the jobless recovery and continue to closely manage their personal finances. Retailer and manufacturer actions and diverse consumer spending patterns are impacting sales results. Though some are a direct result of the economy, others have been in motion for some time and like a perfect storm, they are converging to create both unique challenges and opportunities. In this presentation Todd Hale, Senior Vice President at Nielsen, will explore how consumers have adjusted what they watch and buy and how successful companies are leveraging innovation and insights into the future.
